akish5
My biocube 29 has been cyclin for a week and since I can never leave things be I wanted to add about another 10 pounds of live sand to the tank to bring the sand to about a inch and a half. Will this cause a problem with the cycle or should it be ok? Link to comment
Azedenkae
Depends on what you mean by 'cause a problem.' It may make the cycle go longer, but it is not like it will er, 'kill' a cycle, whatever that means. If you are going to add it anyways, just chuck it in now. Link to comment
alanwest09872
Use a PVC Pipe and pour it down that. That way you dont have a ton floating around. Also strongly suggest washing the sand first. you just mix up 5 gallons of saltwater for every 10 pounds of sand. Pour 10 lbs into a bucket and 1 gallon of saltwater. mix it the best you can dump out the water and just keep doing it over and over again. Till you get most of the fine stuff out. That way you dont have any sandstorms Link to comment
Chadf
Nobody sees a problem with 1.5" of sand? I do. Link to comment

akish5
After I added the bag it brought it to about 2 inches. What would be the problem with only 1.5? Link to comment
