anizato
So I have had a pair of Ocellaris for a year now and they live in a 50 gallon reef with a Helfrichi Firefish. They will soon have a pair of Bipartitus Leopard Wrasse and a Starry Blenny joining them. Today, a collector friend of mine called me to offer me a deal which is hard to refuse. 2 platinums and 2 picasso. He says it wouldn't be a problem to add the 4 to my current pair. Others I also trust say I should remove the pair and get a new set of clownfish, minimum 7 (sticking to odd numbers) and add them all together, preferably from the same batch of eggs. What do you guys have to say about this? Please help.. Link to comment
Bingo1213
It would be risky to add the new clowns in with your current clowns just my opinion. Clowns are very unpredictable though. Even if you removed your current clowns and added all new clowns there is no guarantee they won't fight....its a crap shoot! Link to comment
CronicReefer
I have always been told the only way to keep multiple clown pairs is in a tank where the fish feel they have enough territory space between each other pair. Clownfish pairs can become very aggressive when new clowns are added to the tank so you may have better luck if the clowns you are thinking of getting have been living in their old tank together peacefully. 1.0reef
I'd keep a maximum of one individual or pair of clowns in a community tank of that size. Link to comment
anizato
Thanks everybody. The offer was passed. I am glad I can count on you guys. I knew it was far fetched, but well there is always that little something that wishes it were true, and I just had to find out LOL. Link to comment
