Chrisl1976
I have been helping a friend of mine get into reef tanks and he's fighting a small cyano issue in the tank and sump. I have always seen posts about cyano and deads spots in the tank are/can cause this. Increased flow can help resolve this, ect ect.. One thing about this subject that has always made me wonder is I have seen cyano in higher flow areas as well.....live rock next to power heads, return pumps, ect. So this would seem to neglect the idea that increased flow helps since it growns in high flow areas, My question is are the dead spots just a food source for the bacteria and not just a place it can grow?
