WibblyPig Posted March 6, 2015 Share Posted March 6, 2015 I'll start - bought a Viper HQI light from Lawnman so I can ditch one of my LEDs (still keeping the CurrentUSA for sunrise/sunset) I also have my RO/DI stuff right below my office so I drilled a hole in the floor and ran a 1/4" line up behind the stand. Now to top off all I have to do is turn a valve - no more making a gallon, forgetting about it and flooding the basement! Link to comment
CronicReefer Posted March 6, 2015 Share Posted March 6, 2015 I switched my canister filtration to using all Brightwell Aquatics products (personal preference and price), did a treatment of chemiclean, and I bought a Sochting Oxydator. Very happy so far with everything, especially the Oxydator. I'd say my tank is looking much better now than it was last month or even two weeks ago. No more cyano/red slime and my pH is finally staying above 8.0 with this Oxydator. Link to comment
OpFor Posted March 6, 2015 Share Posted March 6, 2015 I changed my live rock around and added some well rinsed lace rock for more frag friendly places. I also upgraded my filtration to a multistage, instead of just a single filter. (All in my 10gal.) Link to comment

SchnauzerFace Posted March 6, 2015 Share Posted March 6, 2015 FINALLY secured the rock work in my 75g. I was sick of causing rockslides while cleaning or just generally being clumsy. Had to spread the process over two days because my enormous serpent sea star decided to hide in one of the rocks I needed to drill, and he refused to come out even for food. But I distracted him the next day and borrowed his house for a few minutes Acrylic rod and JB water weld makes life much easier. Rocks are STAYING PUT! Link to comment

If you ever need to do it again, get a flexible drill bit - 3/8" They'll drill through porous live rock in place so you don't have to remove it. Link to comment

I up graded my AI Vega with the AI Hydra 52's. Took all of about 10 mins to replace the pucks. I also started carbon dosing about 6 weeks ago and pretty dang close to having that dialed in. Today, like every other day, I'll be doing my daily dose of: 3ml dose Reef Energy A&B (DT) .5ml dose Reef Colors ABC&D (DT) one good squirt of LRS Fish Frenzy Nano Blend (DT & QT) 4ml dose (2ml in the am & 2ml in the pm) of calc and alk solution (QT) .8ml dose cheap Vodka (DT) In addition to the above, Wednesday and Saturdays are "Special" dinner nights where I also mix in either reef frenzy or reef chili (alternate) and on Saturdays they also get 3 or 4 drops of ArctiPods Speaking of pods, I also dumped in a shipment of 300 bugs (pods) from getyourpods.com last night into the DT. Bought my first two frags for the 25, some zoas with reddish orange tentacles with bluish purple and yellow centers, as well as a single fluorescent green mushroom. Also did a 1.5 gallon water change on my Spec V. Built a media basket out of white plastic egg crate for the spec v. Added BRS GFO to both tanks ;-) Link to comment
