Coral colors dull

Hi! I haven't had fish in years and just set up a Biocube 29 with stock lighting. After a successful fish less cycle I have added two small clownfish and a zoanthid. I put the coral in last night after drip acclimation.

Today, the polyps are not fully open, and the color looks dull and brownish compared to in the store. Overall it looks healthy, and I know it may take some time for the polyps to full open, but I am concerned about the color. Is the change in appearance temporary or maybe due to the lighting? I was hoping to use stock lighting for a while.

Thanks.

I haven't re checked today. Nitrates were 10, pH 8.1, salinity1.025. They don't look sick, just not as colorful as at the LFS.

It could be your lighting. Coral colors can look very different depending on what sort of light is over them. I don't think zoanthids would change color overnight if you've acclimated them carefully and your water quality is good.

+1 on the lights. Nitrates are a little high but Ive seen zoas doing very well with some nitrate. Id still test out your other params though.

+1 on lighting, I've seen some dull colored zoanthids at the LFS but as soon as I throw them under my LEDs they pop lol
