Drying carbon and GFO?

I ended up buying a used dual BRS reactor and I've been having a lot of issues with getting it to seal correctly. When I first got it, I loaded it up with carbon and GFO but after running it for a few seconds, I had a nice puddle of water... It's been a few days and I've been drying out the carbon and GFO on plates and so far the carbon has completely dried out. I put it in a plastic bag and was wondering if I would be able to use that carbon since it never ran for more than a minute combined. The GFO is still a bit wet and I want to make sure that it is 100% dry before putting it in a sealed bag so I'm giving it a few more days. Same question goes for the GFO. Would I be able to reuse the GFO or does getting it wet and then drying it have some sort of negative impact?

Bump. Everything is completely dry and in plastic bags. Turns out the person shipped the wrong canisters but we figured it out and he is sending me the correct canisters so within a week or so I should have the reactor up and running. I think they should be fine but I don't really know for sure.

I think it should be fine. I really have nothing to base it on though, lol. As far as I know, they are both absorbers of toxins(carbon) and phosphates(GFO), so If they aren't absorbing anything they will not be exhausted. I don't think it could hurt anything either way. HTH.

That's what I was thinking. I ran them in RODI water at first in order to get the fines out. After draining, I put it in the sump for a minute or so before realizing that it just wasn't going to work.
