Sugardaddy1979
Cup goes in on top. Barb screws into out on pump. I insert barb into bottom of skimmer body. Attach airline to venturi which is usually blue. Attach venturi to inflow of pump. Attach airline to venturi and feed through holes on skimmer body. Attach silencer to other end of airline. Done. You might also want to cut barb flush with the plate in the bottom of the skimmer body. Link to comment
B16acrx1988
I figured it out off the picture and got it adjusted last night. I may of may not have overflowed the cup too many times to count. Water in cup had a little color this morning so hoping it breaks in fast. Link to comment
afyounie
I cut the barb shorter on mine based on a mod someone published on RC or R2R. Never tried it without it cut, but it's always worked really well for me. I keep it dialed at 2. A bit too high and it begins to overflow. Link to comment
B16acrx1988
Yeah I have mine set at 2ish right now with bubbles right up to the neck of the cup. Hoping I get home from work and it's miraculously broken in :/ Link to comment

Just make sure to clean the neck regularly. I wipe the neck down whenever I take the cup off now. Keeps it working in tip-top shape. Link to comment
Bill Nye
I have an sc 301 on my new build that is cycling. It took me about two weeks of running for it to start producing normal skimmate. Before that it was just constantly overflowing at the 0 setting. I hear if you run them in a vinegar/freshwater combo it helps break down the manufacturing oils much faster. Link to comment
B16acrx1988
Mine is starting to produce skimmate just watery still, but seems to be working good it might work better if I raise it up I have it running in about 10" of water. Link to comment

I've had mine for going on a month or so and I'm getting a nice foamy head of gunk coming out. I can tune it so that it's wetter but for now it's working great. I usually empty it once a week or so. Haven't gotten around to setting up a second reservoir from the drain. I don't really mind wet skimming as long as it's pretty dark. Link to comment

Have you done the pump mod? If you cut off the barb all the way to the base of the skimmer body its supposed to act like its in less water. I have my skimmer in 9 inches of water and it seems pretty good with this mod. Link to comment
vlangel
I have the 302 and it's still making wet skimmate and I have had it for over a month. It's nice and dark so I am ok and pleased with it. Link to comment
