My first post here. have had many tanks before but took a break for a couple years while I went back to school. Now looking to pick up a biocube tomorrow if all goes well. Cant never trust craigslist but we will see. BC29 stock for 75 bucks hell I am game. Never had an actual tank this small before. Dont even think I have had a sump this small before so its a new world for me.

I know the stock pc lights will have to go. I hear I lot of good reviews on the rapid leds and there are reasonably priced. So I might start there. Not looking for much but would like a birdsnest.

Debating a skimmer. I have always run skimmers and done water changes and plan to keep it that way. I hear the AL 115 is a pos. I have seen the older tunze 9001 and it was a decent little skimmer. Have not seen many reviews on the tunze 9002. Do it need to buy a collection cup to make it fit. From what I have read online I have not really found a yes or no answer. The chamber issue I hear alot that affects the proformance due to changing water levels is another issue. What are these walls in the filter section made out of. I hear people cutting the walls but are they not made of glass? If they are plastic couldnt I just remove the wall from chamber 1&2 and make my own wall so my skimmer will fit ? Hell I could even make a bubble trap and still have room for a filter basket.

Sorry to make you all have to sit through what the voices in my head are saying but if I got to hear them then you got to read them.

Going to need some help here. I got my tank but i do think its a biocube. It fits the dims of a 29bc and has stock pc lighting. However it only has 2 chambers in the back and 2 moonlight leds. I have pics of it but cant figure out how to post them with my phone. Any help would be great looks like its going to work out better but back to the drawing board for some of the kits i was going to buy

sounds like it is the oceanic model? Is there any branding on it? Mine is a coralife and has three chambers. It also have 4 buttons up top. The Oceanic ones only have two buttons I believe.

Spot on thats it. Just googled aqua pod and thats what I got. Sucks then its only 24 and not 29. I guess I should change my title to Robs AP24 build lol.

Well back to the drawing board as far as stuff to get. Its all good though I got time. Will build a stand the weekend and probably gut the hood and go from there.

Thanks got it used and they told me it was a biocube there add said it was a bio cube and it looked like a biocube. I not know these nanos so oh well. Still got it for cheap so I cant complain.

Ok well I have put that tank above on the back burner. It has scratches on the glass that I have been tryingto get out. It is working but is going to take a long time.

Instead I found a pretty sweet custom made acrylic 32 gallon tank. Came with a chiller and a skimmer along with a acrylic stand and canopy. The skimmer was crapy at best so I tried to rebuild it and I now know how not to build a skimmer. I didnt like the fact that the canopy only lifted up the entire canopy. I was thinking it would be a pian to get blasted with the LEDs I plan on installing while feeding corals and water changes. So I cut the canopy in half and installed a hinge on it so I can flip just the front of it up leaving the lights on the coral when feeding.

Was going to get the reef octo BH50. Was hoping to fit this skimmer in the back but the foot print is about a half inch to big. Has anyone seen this skimmer. I was wandering if I could trim down the foot to make it fit. Would be a great little skimmer. Here are some pics of the tank. I dont have a pic of the canopy yet but will update soon with more pics of further progress.
