MFChop
I have a 20g Long that I cant seem to win a battle with Cayno Algae. I highly doubt it's a flow issue, I have a MP10 running at 50% and a return running at 230gph. Skimming, Floss weekly, and Chemi-Pure Elite. Im thinking of adding an HOB reactor with GFO... any other recommendations or thoughts Looking at these possibly http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/brs-gfo-carbon-reactor-5-single.html http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/brs-gfo-carbon-reactor-deluxe1.html Link to comment
rathos
I used some chemiclean red slime remover on a tank that had no maintenance done other than feeding of fish for quite some time. It not only killed the cyano but pretty much any other algae in the tank (like the stuff on the walls). After the time it said I did a pretty large water change and helped him add a good clean up crew. Water and take have been clear ever since. Link to comment
LebaneseDlight
GFO 100%. (EDIT: sorry, I was thinking GHA, not cyano, looking at your tank build) Seen this video? I'm not a fan of additives, but Melev's reef tanks are legendary, so it piqued my interest. Link to comment
LebaneseDlight
I would also run Purigen to combat dissolved organics, which may be contributing to your cyano. Link to comment
