Here is the process which my friend and I took to create my current stand for the Fusion 10. Hopefully the pictures will explain the process. If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this sparks some ideas for future Fusion 10 owners, or all reef tank owners out there.

The Final Product.

The Process.

The wood is cut from 1x4's. The long pieces are 38", medium pieces are 15", and the smaller ones 10.5"

We used the 10.5" and the 38" to make the rear.

Clamp that made sure the wood was at 90 degrees.

We made sure that the edges were lined up using a clamp and a piece of wood. Then drilled a screw through.

Added two 10.5" to the bottom.

Nice and balanced.

Tip: Clamps are your best friend.

Profiling Router gives you the perfect edge.

Little weight to keep the wood from sliding.

Like I said. Clamps = Important

Cut top and bottom to size. Used the profiling router for the front opening.

Skipped a couple things here. Added a middle shelf and painted the inside with Kilz paint. Used Vaneer edge banding, then stained the outside. On this picture, we did not place the polyurethane just yet. I decided to with a semi-gloss finish.

I placed table glides on the bottom so that the stand can be moved around. To make sure that the stand would not tip over, I have a 5 gallon container of RO on the bottom of the stand.

And we are done!

OK, I know this post ridiculously old, but I just found it today in a search, and I'm kind of surprised it didn't get a little more love. I am a hobby woodworker, and I enjoy building stands myself. I thought @edd29did a very nice job documenting the stand build, and I hope others might see how easy it can be to build a nice looking stand fairly easily. Especially for such a popular tank 😉

Good job, edd29! That's a nice looking stand, and i hope someone else can benefit from seeing your photos today. Thanks for sharing them 🙂

Happy reefing everyone!
