Which lighting options would be best...

I may be getting a Nuvo 10. I know very littl of LEDs, and I have a very small budget.

I plan to have lots of LPS and Sofies, but also a couple hardy SPS. I will probably go with black sand... I love how it makes colors pop.

I want a light that will really bring out the colors for corals. I am not a fan of pink colored tanks, and prefer a blue look. However, I also don't want it to be too dark or blue.

As of now, I think I will go with a Par 30 from Coral Compulsion. Anyone have good results with this?

I would prefer to not go any more than $75 for this light... anyone know other good LED options I could use that will help with what I'm looking for?

Thanks!

For $74 that's probably a good choice. If the SPS is high up and directly under the light they should do okay, although they may not thrive.

By thrive, do you mean they won't grow fast? Or will they not be healthy?

Well each coral is different so some may not "color up" to their full potential or be a little on the drab/brown side. I'm sure they will grow fine, but some SPS need pretty intense light to thrive, grow fast, and color up nicely.

Some others like the green slimer are known to do well in less! Hope that helps. There is a reason why some other fixtures are more $$ although even if you upgrade later down the line at least you can sell this light or have a nice backup just in case.

I think one of their 24W Par38's would offer you more light, and therefore greater flexibility so that you could keep higher light corals and inverts, and they are not that much more in cost...

I'm thinking of getting a par38 myself for the same setup. But with the ai prime coming out next week that might be a better option overall.
