PathOfDeception

Hi guys, new to the forum and new to reefing after good success with planted tropical tank. I recently purchased a 20 gallon long tank that has been cycling for 5 days so far with the help of some Dr Tims One and Only Nitrifying bacteria.

Of course with this on the way I am very excited to stock the tank and will be waiting for my cycle to be complete, I am no newbie to cycling and such.

Now for stocking I had a few ideas that I will list below, I understand that in a 20 gallon I am restricted on stocking so please give me so ideas.

My plans for full stock (of course not all fish in one go) were

-pair of clowns (1 occelaris and 1 picasso)

- 1 Blue/green chromis

- 1 firefish

- Hopefully a smaller goby

- various snails based on your recommendations

- 1 Blood Red Fire Shrimp

- 1 Emerald Crab

This would be my full stock over the span of months.

Would this be a decent stock for my nano 20 Long tank? Overcrowded? Compatibility?

Here is my equipment so far:

- 20L Tank

- 20 Lbs Live Rock

- 20 Lbs Live Sand

- 2xKoralia powerheads 425GPH each

- Aqua clear 70 refugium mod running carbon and filter floss

- Oceanic Biocube Protein Skimmer (will prob replace feels like junk)

- 2x50Watts Heaters

- Lighting will be T5s HO that I am getting next week (not using much light during cycle)

- RO Buddie RO water unit

- Instant Ocean Reef Salt

Planned water changes is weekly 15-20%

How does it sound what would you recommend from experience and personal success.?

Thank you guys for your time!

Welcome to N-R.com. Your list sounds fine. While there could be an issue with the Chromis and Clownfish (as the two are related), I suspect that it will be alright.
