CleverName
Hello All, Below are some pictures of my plate coral. You can see the tentacles are retracted and its puffed up (The cleaner shrimp was just using him as a doormat). I can't figure out exactly what this guy likes or dislikes. I've tried water flow, different lighting, placement, direct feeding etc. There's no rhyme or reason to this things behaviour. Even when it is extended it looks nothing like his brother in the local store's tank or when I brought him home a few weeks ago. The tentacles on mine are at least 1/2 of the size of the same species at the local store. Tank parameters are 0's and Sality is .025. Tank is Oceanic Biocube 29 with stock power compacts. From what I've read these guys don't need a huge amount of light anyway. I have a small powerhead on the right side of the tank which I've turned off about a week ago. Not much difference in appearance. Anyone have any tricks or advice to get this guy looking top notch? It looks like the right side is more pissed then the left. Maybe the rock is blocking some direct light? Link to comment

CleverName
Thanks for the reply Mr Formula, I was more concerned about the stubby tenticals as I understand they puff up. It just doesn't look as happy as when I first brought him/her home. Is there any little tricks or something that maybe annoying it which I've not thought of? Link to comment
Thomas898
Mine does that every couple of weeks. Completely normal. I have a long tentacle, they sometimes will inflate parts of their body and move with the current. Blows up like a balloon, and the tentacles don't puff up when the body is overly inflated. Don't know why, but nothing to worry about. Link to comment
