I ordered a skimmer from Cad Lights Aquarium last October. It arrived in a battered box with no paperwork. I didn’t think much about it at the time as I was keen to install the product, but it turned out to be a nightmare. A month later I received an invoice from Fedex for the taxes and duty. The Skimmer cost me CAN$170. The taxes and duty were CAN$260. (should have been about $50 tops)

Cad Lights had put the wrong shipping documents in the package to Fedex. OK, everybody makes mistakes now and again (at least I do). Jason at Cad Lights agreed they had made a mistake. (The shipper had quit and they were busy). He promised to remedy the problem for me. He promised me 10 times over 4 months that everything would be sorted out. Recently Scott has been involved (waste of time). These people do not return phone calls or emails. They say they are fixing the problem and promptly forget about it. They led me on for close to 4 months (shame on me?)

I have now paid this bill to Fed Ex (so my credit rating will not be affected) and thought I would let you know of my experience.

It’s a prime example of a good product becoming tainted due to lousy customer service.

Really sorry to hear that....They've never been know for their customer service as many reefers have had alot of issues over the years(myself included) The difference was in the past I was able to reach out to Eddie directly and he always was diligent in resolving any issues....unfortunately thats no longer the case.

Sorry about this trouble... I have a friend who has been sending emails for over 2 months now and never once have they replied.... needless to say, there are other companies out there that want to keep a customer base, and will cater to them (Innovative Marine has done me awesome). I'm starting to see that CADLights is going down hill....

I would have not paid or short paid that invoice for the correct amount. Proven with your invoice from the order.

 

Don't know how it works in Canada but that's not going to affect your credit caring. You don't have credit or an account with FedEx for them to report to.

The invoice came from Fedex directly to me so unfortunately it would have affected my credit rating. I could have fought them but didn't think it worth it as it wasn't a Fedex problem.

 

Yes, there seems to be a lot of bad reviews of Cadlights, Quite sad as the product is OK.
