joshky
Small update. Since the BH-1000 issue I've decided to hold off (until Tuesday or Wednesday) on modifying it, someone in my local reef club did the same modification and it does help but didn't fix it completely. (it still managed to flood once) To combat PH issues I've added a third powerhead to the tank to get more oxygen exchange which is keeping it at a steady 8.0, so for now this will do. However my quaint lagoon is experiencing some stormy weather from the added flow, it will be nice to get it all back to normal in a few days. I hope to hear back from coralvue soon, hopefully they have a long term fix for me so I can continue to use it in the future. Link to comment
joshky
Reef Octopus BH-1000 Mod, basically just cutting the return piping so water doesn't have to go so far down into the tank. Before I cut it (with diffuser off): After cutting: After with diffuser on: Basically it needed to produce a lot of water pressure to shoot as far down as it was, by cutting the pipe it should theoretically be fixed. Plus it actually blocked a lot of light in my 20 long, so regardless it's a nice little fix. It seems to be working for now. @Russ722 I haven't forgotten about your photo request, I'll be working on that today/tomorrow. Thanks again, sorry for the delay. Link to comment
joshky
This is my last big update, I will be breaking this tank down very soon to transition to a 80g 48x24x16 Deep Blue Rimless very soon which will be SPS dominated. Sorry for the late update, things have been busy for me and there for a little while my tank took a backseat. Some things have changed already, I've given my pair of platinum clowns to my older brother. My wheeler's shrimp goby dove into my maxi mini anemone. My big blue maxima clam died from a leopard toby puffer addition, dumb gamble I suppose. I thought I'd have enough time to remove the puffer before he did enough serious damage, apparently I was wrong. I think that about covers it, more growth on stuff and minor changes to aquascape. Here is the evolution of my 20 long, the first photo is when I first set the 20 long up after transferring from a 20 tall. Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoy. Link to comment
