Loving that Duncan, that's my favorite coral. I wish my clowns would be hosted to it though

Thanks. :) I'm just glad the Duncan is doing ok with them, it's neat how animals adapt.

That clam thoughh... so niceeee

Thank you. :D

Such a clean looking tank. Did you grow out all of your corals or did you buy them close to the size they are now? Love the tank!

Thanks!

The tan/green Duncan and Christmas Favia are recent purchases, the rest have been with me for a while and grown into the colonies they are now. :)

I figured I should give more information on this system, so here's a little summary.

Current maintenance regimen:
? Bi-weekly (or so) 10%-20% water changes, varies, I would say normally around 15%. I usually just use whatever extra RO/DI water is laying around.
? BRS 2 Part Dosing (by hand) - I have a Kamoer Dosing Pump I bought for my (dry) 80g rimless, but I don't really have room under the stand to set it up on this tank. I should be making a build thread on the 80g soon and eventually breaking this tank down.
? Clean glass probably once a week, it doesn't get that bad thankfully, just a bit of coralline build up which my CUC helps with.

If there are any questions just ask. :) Will try to get more pictures Monday, thanks for reading!

Came home to my Skimmer (BH-1000 Reef Octopus HOB) barely draining back into the tank, after fiddling around with it for a while I was stumped. There wasn't anything blocking the drain. I took a break to go eat dinner and my older brother did some research for me, apparently the new design on the return is kinda crappy and needs to be modded for some people. Here is someone who had the same problem as me, looks like I have some work to do.

I will document the process the best I can so anyone else who has to do this knows exactly what to do.

I really like the grown out colonies in your tank. Way better than the frag Xmas tree some people have(myself included in some parts). I have a Duncan colony with ~60 heads and have considered fragging it, but it's one of the few that made it through a crash and I love how it looks

My largest duncan colony is almost up to 70 heads and the smaller one is over 50. I prefer not to frag my corals since I'll be upgrading to a 80g soon and these colonies will be dwarfed in the new space.

which model light is that and could you post a FTS showing the light hanging over the tank? Thanks.

Thank you very much! This is the one I'm currently using http://www.ebay.com/itm/AquaSTAR-165W-Dimmable-LED-Aquarium-Light-Full-Spectrum-Reef-Coral-Fish-Marine-/281553749262?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item418de9450e. For what it's worth, one is not ideal for a tank with my dimensions, I make it work, but I do wish I had two. I can't justify buying another since this tank is supposed to be a short-term thing, I have an 80g build in the process. (and I'm using an ATI Sunpower on that)

I work long hours on weekends so I probably won't have any photo updates until Monday, thanks for the interest! :)

Thanks for the reply, so you don't think one would be enough for a 20l tank? NP on the pics I understand.

You can make it work, my tank is proof of that, but livestock and placement is the key. You definitely cannot have a tank full clams and acros with only one of these over a 20 long, but if you want to do a mixed reef then just keep in mind your coral placement and it should be fine. If your 20 long is going to be more of a long term project, you can always buy another light in the future if you feel you need it. :)
