FlowerMama
Has anybody taken a typical 55g and cut it down to specifications of a 40g long???? Just the height would have to be reduced to like 13.5 or so inches. Been tired of my 55g freshwater and was thinking....how could you cut it down? Would I have to take it to a glass shop as my best option? I would if I have to cuz I wouldn't do it myself. Link to comment
Halo_003
I would not risk it... I would just buy a new tank. They aren't work risking animals and floors over. Link to comment
FlowerMama
Yeah, I was wondering if the glass structure would be compromised by the jarring of it being cut. Link to comment
Halo_003
The only way I could see it working safely is if you stripped it apart completely, cut all the silicon, cleaned the glass etc, got all of the glass cut, and then rebuilt with the cut glass. Otherwise I think it would compromise the structure of the tank. Link to comment
