Easy screen top

I had my first tank mishap last week when a new inhabitant, a 4" diamond sifter goby, went carpet surfing. I wasn't really sure how he got out since my tank has a glass top with gaps thinner than he was...he may have been able to get in the rear chamber, swim up and down through the baffles, and then out the side. Who knows.

 

I went to the hardware store right next to the LFS and picked up a screen window kit. It took all of 30 minutes to make and, although ti doesn't look professional, it's pretty clean and fits perfectly. I was worried the screen I bought would be too tight and block too much light but it looks like it doesn't. Plus, it'll help keep my tank cooler and won't get dirty or smudgy like the glass top.
