How many of us have had IM tanks crack/break?

Why are they even selling these tanks!?! It seems there is a broken/cracked tank once a month around here and this is only one forum. I know they made an attempt to correct the matter but it seems to have failed. The new models are still breaking.

 

Soo, yeah, just curious... Shout out if you've had your Nuvo or any other model of IM tank break.

Not yet. But I am lookin for replacement. Won't take chances with it. Me no love you long time no more.

Had mine for 2 years plus with no breaks. I do agree though it seems like a lot have broken. What is more disappointing is the stories I have read about the way IM has handled the situation.

had mine for only 3 months and the seal on the bottom broke and there was a slow leak

Seems like the Nuvo 16s were the main culprit - and they don't sell those any more. Haven't heard about any failures with the fusion line yet, have you?

Kinda glad I moved and waited to set mine up. Asked for upgrade to Nuvo 20. Willing to pay shipping and any delta in cost...but won't risk the new hardwoods in the office.

I have a Nuvo 16 First Gen which had almost all the problems. Frankly its been absolutely perfect. I would happily buy another IM Aquarium. i did buy it from Premium Aquatics in Indianapolis. It was packed like fine china by them. I would also buy from Premium Aquatics if they had what I wanted in stock.

I have had my IM Nuvo 16 for over 2 years now with NO problems. I think I must be one of the lucky ones. I do have to say that I contacted IM and asked about some of the issues the tanks have been having. In the e-mail response, the guy was kind of a dick. I was a little surprised because I was just asking questions. I told them I have had a great experience with my tank, but the response was really defensive. I really do like my tank, I just hope it holds up.

No problems here with my fusion 10g! Even the desktop skimmer is working good.

I have both an IM Nuvo Fusion 10g and 20g and so far no issues! I'm not sure as to how long it takes for an individual to experience any issues with the previous stories that I've quickly glanced over but so far I've had the 20g setup for coming on 5 months and my 10g has been setup now for close to a month. Everything is working flawlessly but sheesh these media baskets are horrible! I'm thinking of giving the pico skim a shot in the 10g and the desktop skimmer in the 20g.. see which one out performs and then replace the loser with the winner!

Nuvo 24 cracked after 3 days with water. IM replaced it with the Fusion 30, and I'd poop myself if this thing ever cracked; it's a tank (as in military tank, not aquarium). The quality of the Fusion series is insanely better than the original Nuvos.

That is definitely the truth! Good quality glass and nice clean build!
