MrLang
Looking to do a simple refugium in my AC70. Can someone give this a sanity check? -Replace with AC30 Impeller -Add a simple screen to stop chaeto from flowing back out of the basket I was thinking of putting this inside, but is there a reason not to or why this wouldn't work? Bottom of the basket = chemipure elite, on top of that a small layer of LR Rubble, on top of that a big fat ball of Chaeto -Add a light and keep the lid off. Was looking at this one: http://www.amazon.com/Deep-Blue-Solarflare-Micro-6700k/dp/B00AXNQ9OU/ref=sr_1_1?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1424206991&sr=1-1&keywords=6700k+led Am I missing anything or any experience with some of this not working? I am looking to do this economy style and without permanent mods to the AC70. Thanks, Jon Link to comment
StevieT
Skip on any rubble. It can only trap nitrates and isn't going to add much biofiltration to the system, yet it takes away space from Chaeto. Your live rock in the display is your biofilter. Link to comment
MrLang
Is there a reason you don't see carbon in the bottom of refugiums? Link to comment

That will slow the flow enough and if you pull up on the tube a little it can slow it down more. At the very least cut the nub if it is still too fast get the ac30 prop... Link to comment
