Wisenheimer
I got a small frag of Forest Fire Montipora Digitata 2 days ago. How can I tell if it's happy with it's placement? I have it about half way up in my IM Micro 30 under a Kessil A160WE running at 65%. It's a couple of inches below a Montipora Confusa that's growing like a weed. It has almost daily growth, if that's even possible. The Digitata has polyps showing but they're really small. My Confusa is literally covered with a carpet of polyps. How long should I leave the digitata to see if it gets either more, or bigger polyps? Will the polyps be the same size as the Confusa? Thanks Link to comment
AdamNC
I will be happy when it has full polyp extension. Link to comment
Wisenheimer
I will be happy when it has full polyp extension. That much I do know. lol The question is how do I know what "full polyp extension" is? It's polyps are smaller than my plating Monti but is this normal? The polyps are out all the time and I can see them waving back and forth in the flow. It's been in the tank a week now and hasn't lost any colour. I'll take that as a good sign. I just hope I start to see some yellow on the edges in the next few weeks to show growth Link to comment
AdamNC
Honestly your best bet is to compare yours to others using a google search on the type of coral it is, not so much the color but the sp. Link to comment

Thanks. I seem to be getting more polyps and the ones that are there seem fuller than they were. I seems to be getting more evenly covered in red if that makes any sense. I must be having a dumb day, but what is "sp"? LOL Link to comment
