Zorro237
I am relatively new to saltwater tanks but have done a ton of research on the topic. I understand the chemistry of water and what each element does in a fish tank. What I struggle to find is acceptable ranges for Alkalinity, Magnesium, and Calcium. There is a lot of information on acceptable ranges for fish tanks, but it seems that everyone's idea of a range varies. I am currently running a 16g nuvo with the following parameters. I have fish, soft coral, zoas, and LPS. I know that the parameters that I am looking at are "Healthy" but I can never tell if I am on the high or low end of the range. Also I do 5g water changes 1-3 times a week once my nitrates hit 5ppm. Phosphate: 0 pmm Nitrate: 3 ppm Calcium: 470 ppm Alkalinity: 4.1 meqL Magnesium:1440 ppm Any insight into ranges for Cal, Alk, and Mag? Link to comment
