Steensj's Deep Blue 34 Shallow. Shutting Down Tank Due To Work...

MB7 has helped my tanks alot after I moved and transferred them. Still has a bit of cyano in my 12 gallons but that's more due to overstocking.

I'm taking your advice, I'm sure it will help. I just hate to dump Chemiclean or some other garbage into my tank, I'd rather dose some bacteria like you suggested. I don't dose much of anything and like to keep it as natural as I can. How exactly should I used the MB7 in conjunction with the Fuel?

I turned up the Gyre 4 clicks, I was afraid the coals wouldn't like it, and for a day or two they were pissed, now they are back 2-fold, apparently it was the right decision.

Awe shit

A local petstore sells the biofuel, saw it the other day, I'll grab some. Ordered

2x Giesseman 24" T5 Bulbs

1x Polyp Labs Reed Roids( Im out)

1x MicroBacter 250ml

When you add the biofuel and MB7, turn off the skimmer for a few hours then turn it back on. It lets things settle a bit. But definitely need to skim with the biofuel, but it should help establish the new bacteria.

There's good directions on the back of the bottles. It will tell you how much to dose etc. I would dose both in the AM, leave skimmer off for 4-5 hours then turn it back on. Did this daily until cyano started to clear. I also upped my flow, but you did this as well so you should be good to go once you get the MB7 & biofuel.

I agree - I think chemical applications should be saved for last resort.

Wow, Steens! Looking good! You'd never know you were dealing with cyano. Hey, what's that gorg in the right front of your tank?

Stellers. That cracks me up

I just blew a lot of it around with the Bird-Baster, its more of a light film at this point, but trying to get ahead of it.

What about the front of the tank?

Looks like the tank is going away for now, I have multiple 1-2 month trips overseas coming soon for work, totaling about six months with only a week or so in between. Since I have nobody to care for the tank I'm have no choice but to shut it down for now. We are also closing on a house soon if the offer is accepted. I will be setting something larger up so I will sell most of what I have as the equipment will need to be able to handle something much bigger :) sorry to see it go, but not much of a choice.

Yeah, I know. But I don't have much of a choice, I don't want everything dead, and wasted. My wife just can't handle full time work and a masters program along with a reef tank. It will give birth to something much larger soon enough, and I'll still be around in the lawn-lounge
