The skimmer chamber can handle a larger skimmer the I could possibly need.... I donno, am I ballay enough to gamble on a little reviewed skimmer like a Skimz, or do I play it safe. TBD, lol!

Says,"Temp out of stock 4-6 weeks." Bummer. Couldn't I use the 150?...

Weird. When I go on their site, it says it's available.

how much approximately was the hybrid?

Honestly, you should really talk to Dave, As he hasn't posted the prices yet I feel like maybe I shouldn't post them for him. :) Not trying to be rude. He is offering two sizes from what I gathered, mine will be the larger of the two he metioend to me. I will say that I considered 2x Radion XR15w with RMS and I am much happier with this option both price wise and option wise.

Considering a DIY sump so I can throw that money at other equipment. I donno yet, I can build a sump for a fraction of the cost and use funds for some more shiz....

Stocking plan Updates:

Stocking Plans:

-Heavy SPS( Specifically some Leptosyris, Acros, Encrusting Montis)

-Acan garden

- Gold Torch

-Zoa Garden

-Goby /Pistol pair, must have

-Verigated urcin

-Scarlet Shrimp

-some kind of Pretty Wrasse? Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse/Red Velvet Fairy Wrasse maybe?

There are a few fish I am dying to have, that I'm not sure I can get, a Copper Banded is on and no way that'll work, same with Anthias

Next we used a pocket hole jog to mount the legs, stand is 33" tall.

We knew that the stand didn't have a lot of side to side strength, but we were skinning in ply, so no biggie. Next we skinned the back and two sides:

The onto the detail work, we built 2 boxes from 1x3 pieces, 45 degree corners:

Next we routed the inner surface to a half circle with recess accent:

Then mounted to the front frame:

After that, we did some basic framing to build up for pedestals on corners. We wished we'd have some a few things different, but no going back now.... We then added a top piece, to gram the tank, cut out and accented with a router, and crown moulding around the bottom ans raised corners, this is where we left off:

Stand is going to look amazing, I'm digging it.

Whatcha going to use the b/o box for?

ATO with float switches, and a magnetic switch to turn on /off lights inside stand when doors are opened and closed.

Just wait until you see this hybrid. :ninja:

Finally finished the main stand build, overall we are happy with it. We knew because of the wood we used, and even though it was all NO.1 stain grade, the wood was different. This meant the stain would take differently. However, we plan to distress the piece before we Polyurethane it, so it should look fine.

We started today by building the bottom trim:

Next we built the door frames, routed the inner edge with a deep rounded and recessed cut, and the outer edge with a light bevel:

Next, we put the doors together, I wanted the whole front removable, this allowed great access to the sump area, the assembly is so light it wont make much of a difference:

Finally we stained the stand. It will need to dry overnight before I can distress and clear coat:

All my equipment should be here this week( Thursday or Friday). I will be getting a 20L to build the sump this week as well.
