Help..Red Sea skimmer making tiny bubbles getting into display?

I bought a used Red Sea 130D several weeks ago. The skimmer, pumps, etc. are all stock. The water is at the recommended height and I am using the surface skimmer. The skimmer had been working well. Two days ago, without changing anything, it started making tiny bubbles instead of the bigger bubbles/foam and it is sending a bunch of bubbles into the display. Actually, the only thing that changed was I added two much water and the level got too high. I took out some water to get it at the correct place.

Any ideas what is wrong, what to check, etc.?

I pulled the skimmer out and could not see anything obviously wrong.

Cleaned it recently? Pics might help. Sometimes my skimmer randomly makes those tiny bubbles but it will usually settle down in a day or so.

I had a Tunze skimmer that was working fine for a month or so eventually collecting a good dark skim. One day a added a couple of corals using the green and white two part epoxy to attach them to the rock. After that the skimmer went nuts it produced a ton of micro bubbles I tried the sponge at the output but it didn't help. I reduced the air intake and just let it run for a while slowly increasing the air flow and eventually got it back to where it was but it took about three weeks.

You might try just letting enough air in until just before the skimmer produces micro bubbles then gradually increase the air over a couple of weeks.

Sorry, didn't phrase what I said correctly. I was referring to a coarse sponge between the baffles. I know when my skimmer first started it produced a ton of micro bubbles that even got through the bubble trap. Putting a course sponge that doesn't restrict the water flow too much between the baffles should stop any bubbles from getting through. I used some filter floss since I didn't have a sponge handy and it did the job. After a week and a half the filter floss wasn't necessary. Would definitely recommend getting something a bit sturdier/rigid than filter floss.
