So do you rinse your Chemi-Pure media?

I do what Ben does. I'm new to purigen, myself.

Regular GFO just makes a mess.

 

I rinse it all in clean RODI water. For about 30 seconds, before use.

it a way it does make sense as far as cleaning up the water chemically, just at the risk of pissing off coral.

How does it makes sense? It won't work any better than just running the media, and then you have to worry about how to get the fines out of the water. Inventing problems where there are none IMHO.

surface area is increased, so the overall potential of nitrates to react with the carbon increases with this.

 

i dont do it, so no problem for me to deal with.
