I would think people have. I'd put them side by side and link them to run wave modes like sine and cosine.

well, really I want to upgrade to a 35w gyre, but I don't have the money right now to waste on "fish stuff", but I'm not super happy (and never have been) with two mp10s facing each other, I actually get better flow with just one on than having them fighting each other. I'm thinking if they're working together maybe they'll give me better flow patterns.

can you link them if they're not "w" models? I know there is a wire port but I've never seen anyone mention linking them and I have no idea what that extra wire port is for.

Oh I have no idea how it actually works for syncing them. I don't have them. I'd put them on the same side, next to each other and turn 1 on to a wave mode and then turn the other one on wave mode on the opposite schedule, so you end up with a sine and cosine kind of wave pattern. Does that make sense?

they'll eventually end up out of that pattern and I don't really like the wave modes, I have a feeling it destroys pumps. I ran one of my mp10s on wave mode for a few weeks and loved the motion of it but the dry side kept getting louder and after a few weeks I decided to go back to reef crest, the noise eventually went away and the pump became silent again, but that's my experience with the wave setting.

Extra port is for battery backup.

that makes sense.

I think I'll try them on the same side, side by side this weekend if I have time to monkey with them.. I think I can likely get better flow patterns with them working together rather than fighting each other.
