snommisbor
Anyone have a recommended intensity setting for the A160 for an IM 10 Fusion. And also, would there be a setting for different corals where SPS could be higher than Zoas. Thinking about eventually adding SPS but not for a while but just curious if setting for example: Zoas are best at 75% intensity max SPS may need 90% intensity but that could be too strong for zoas. Started to add some corals to my reef build and wanted to make sure I wasn't too high for the IM 10. farkwar
I have zoas higher up than acros sps, but to the side, under Kessils, thriving. 350w x 2 at 100% blue, 50% white. Monti sps, chalice sps on the bottom of the tank, under Kessils. There are no standard settings for your animals. It's what they tell you, not some chart somewhere. Link to comment
zooman72
I ran a Kessil A150W Ocean Blue over my IM 10g Fusion for a month or two until I put a NanoBox over it and had no issues with softies and palys - the A150 isn't adjustable, so it was running "full on", but it is also less powerful then the new A160, so I would recommend starting out at 50% intensity and increasing it slowly as needed or your corals allow... drexel
This is what I'm running on a 22g nano with one Kessil 160. Monti cap up and to the side and Seriatopora guttatus middle and lower (will most likely move it to the side as well. I'll try to snap a quick pick and post it. Link to comment
dferrari13
What's up man....I got a similar thread going...my settings are listed on the link below... http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/371040-kessil-a160we-lighting-schedule-discussion/?p=5274029 I'm currently running: 12:00 5%color 5%intensity 15:00 30%color 40%intensity 17:00 50%color 70%intensity 19:00 50%color 70%intensity 21:00 30%color 40%intensity 23:59 0%color 0%intensity Link to comment
drexel
Here's the tank now with two 160's a year later. Running 65% intensity and 30% colour with spectral controller (no longer using my apex to control the lights, weird voltage issue with my apex). Still on a 12hr cycle with 3hr ramp up, hold at peak for 6hrs, then ramp down for 3hrs. Lights are 10" apart (at center) and roughly 6" above the water. 8:00 - 0% colour 5% intensity 11:00 - 30% colour 65% intensity 17:00 - 30% colour 65% intensity 20:00 - 0% colour 5% intensity 20:05 0% colour 0% intensity (I think that's right?) brad65ford
drexel, any updates on your system? Link to comment
drexel
Yeah, I haven't been active much on the forums, been busy with work. I'm upgrading to a larger tank soon, so I've been slowly buying equipment here and there. I've added a lot of stuff to my tank in the past year, but I'll try to find a semi-recent pic and post. drexel
As you can see, I've added a second 160 (sometime in 2015) and T5's (last year). Also, I upgraded my BRS dosers to a GHL Doser 2 (simply the best doser out there). The livestock has changed a little, mainly new additions. I did remove the birdsnest, it was too big for the tank, but there's still a little frag growing from a leftover nub that remained on the rock. I'll try to snap a quick pic later today, now back to work. Link to comment
