Pistol Shrimp ID

Anyone? I'm not very good with these guys as I've just been thinking of getting one. I'm about 90% sure it was caught in Florida.

Ya just a pistol and will not pair with a goby.

Yeah, even if it won't pair with a goby I have a 5 gallon I would love to put him in.

Just needed a scientific name to help my search for the species.

Yes they do. I like theyre red-tipped claw. Wonder if they a predatory which would be cool.

 

Bad thing is that wont ever see them much

I think its Alpheus heterochaelis

 

 

I've got 3 or 4 of them that came in on liverock from Tampa. 1 is red clawed and the others have green claws. They were all hiding in the same rock.

Thanks for the help! It very well could be, they look similar to the one I might get, just color-wise it seems different. But the claw of the second guy looks just like the one I will be getting. I'll look up more info, so thanks for the name!
