Milky layer in sump after DRIPPING KALK?

I have started to dose kalk using an eshopps float valve. Noticed a milky layer on the top of the water in the return section of the sump.

Is this harmless?

Any cons to using a float valve to dose kalk?

its precipitating out. If your using it in your top off I would be VERY surprised if you need anywhere near full strength. I have a relatively heavily stocked tank, tho mostly LPS not alot of SPS, and use 1/4 of a tsp per gallon. Top off ~1/2 gallon per day

Thanks. I will clean this up and try a less saturated solution. i used a 2.5 gallon top off container with 2tsp total of kalk.

SLOW AND STEADY!!!!!!
