Some sort of algae? More important, how to get rid of it

Got this stuff starting to grow all over the rocks in my 12" cube at work. Not sure what it is, but it is becoming a real problem. It has already choked out a small zoe frag and is getting worse. I'd rather not have to remove the rocks as I have a pistol shrimp under them.

based on the runners it looks like some species of caulerpa imo

and that would fit with the aggressive growth.

removal, manually pull as much as possible. there may be some cuc that eats it but idk, maybe an emerald crab.. idk, someone else will chime in on that I'm sure.

Manual removal aught to take care of most of it or at least keep it at controllable levels. You might want to keep some for a fuge as it will process nutrients well. I suggest using tweezers and pluck directly from the runners rather than trying to grab it by the chunk which will likely move your rocks around.
