iPhoneography

Some of my recent iPhone photography! I've been a photographer for many years, and have found it fun pushing the limits of my iPhone.

Along with my startups, I've done a lot of photography for myself and many gigs, including travel, car, weddings, events, product, and portraits. I get tired of pixel peeping and being a gear head, so shooting with an iPhone is always refreshing.

I spend a lot of time exploring with the phone, and pushing what I can get out of the camera. So much so, my latest startup company is dedicated to creating a great editing tool on iOS that's coming out soon. Here are photos taken on my phone and processed with our app (called Priime).

Very cool pictures. Surprising that they were taken with an iPhone. I use my Google Nexus phone to take pics, but I've never tried to take landscape type photos as you have. I'll have to try pushing my phone a bit more. Does the iPhone have a HDR function? I've noticed having the HDR active really makes a difference on the phone pics I take.

Awesome work! You might like Moment lenses, I've been very curious to try them: http://momentlens.co

Thanks man.

Moment lenses look amazing, and definitely considered it... though I really like the limits of the phone without all the accessories. Once I start accessorizing, it never stops with me haha.

If I need some specialized lenses and all that, might as well bring my other cameras along I guess.

In the past, I have used an Olloclip for super wide shots, but stopped because the quality got so bad.

It has an automatic HDR function, though it doesn't kick in all too often I think. The dynamic range on the iPhone sensor is pretty killer already.

I've actually used a Google Nexus to shoot too, really good as well. Just gotta find the right light and conditions for the camera on that thing. I feel like each camera really captures specific things really well, so sometimes I seek those out with the phone. For example, iPhone sensors just can't pick up stars, so there's no way I'll even try a constellation shot with it (kind of extreme example). But I'm sure there's really good situations for the Nexus. At some point, if you can't get the shot you watn with the nexus, just grab something like a DSLR.

I shoot plenty with DSLR when I have to. Example of when I just put the iPhone away and shoot with my DSLR:
