Feeding meaty food

Partially Submerged

I have no experience feeding meaty food to corals. Today I got some raw frozen shrimp and fed some tiny pieces to various inhabitants of my 4g tank. It sure seemed like it was a big hit. My porcelain anemone shrimp loved it (predictably so - I could feed it socks and it would love it). But I also got what looked like good responses from my torch, my trumpet, and my acan coral. At least they closed around the food, and the other polyps on the acan and trumpet stuck out their feeder tentacles. Does this mean they accepted the food? Or do they sometimes just hold on as a reflex? And another question, do I feed all heads separately, or should I just feed one at a time?

Yeah, I thought about that. It's water change day, though. I change 80-100% of the water weekly.

One more question: An hour or so later, all polyps are open again, food seems gone. Does mean they at it, or did they let it go? How long does it take for food to be ingested?

I am not sure about other coral, but my quarter size ricordea could eat a mysis shrimp in about 10 minutes. So i would not be surprised if your coral ate it

Thanks for your replies. I did a bit more feeding last night after lights out, and both the acan and the trumpet coral displayed aggressive feeding behavior. The torch shuts down at night, and I've never seen any feeder tentacles, so I didn't attempt to feed it again. Fun! I hope this will translate into rapid growth.
