russ722
OK I'm gonna give this a try after all but need suggestions. I have a 10g I wanna turn into a AIO. I'm coming from a fluval spec v .anyways I want to make just a 2 chamber sump area pretty much low profile like the spec v . what I was planning on doing is use a mini jet 606 for the return and keep the sump area small as possible to get more display area. 1.As far as the teeth go ,what length should I make them?the mock up cardboard wall I have them 1/4 w x1 1/2 H. 2.I have a few ways I can do the wall , typical side wall or corner angled. With the mini jets size I should have enough room to drop the pump down in the compartment.after all the spec v has no return pump room. I also have a idea for a media rack if I go the corner route.what do u guys think? As far as corning the sump area should I put the overflow towards the rear or front? Thanks for any suggestions /tips. Link to comment
seabass
I'd go with the side wall. It seems less conspicuous than in the corner and I feel that it provides more usable area and better flow within the sump. You will also get better adhesion to the tank (unless you cut the panel at angles that match the tank walls). Finally, I'd use a glass wall (up to the teeth) to support the acrylic panel (as silicone will adhere to glass much better than acrylic). Link to comment
