Odyssey350kc
If i buy a 3/4" barb fitting where is that 3/4" measured. Is that the Inside diameter of the barb fitting? or Does that mean it is meant to hold a flexible pipe with a 3/4" inside diameter? Link to comment

ajmckay
Sometimes it takes some coercing though depending on what type of tubing it's typical application is for! If using vinyl and the tubing is squashed out of round just toss the tubing (or only the end) into some hot water and it'll soften up enough to connect a hose barb or straighten a piece with a curve Link to comment
AZDesertRat
The inside diameter of the 3/4" barbed nipple will be a slight restriction since it is significanly smaller than 3/4" ID. I always step up one size when using barbed nipples and vinyl tubing to reduce the head loss through the fittings where flow is important like on an overflow or if I am trying to get the max out of a pump. My overflow and standpipe are 1" but I used a 1.25" barbed nipple and reinforced vinyl tubing so even the ID of the barb is not a restriction. Link to comment
Mr. Microscope
If you look at BRS for example, they label ID and OD (inner diameter, outer diameter) sizes. Match up your sizes with these indicated labels. Link to comment
