Ok so i was just at my buddies store and someone had dropped off this clownfish for him to sell off and it is very interesting, its like a cinnamon clown but its stripes are blue, and i mean shiny blue almost as blue as a blue reef chromis. Someone please identify this fish so i can give him the heads up.

I'm not well versed in clowns but I think it's snowflakes..... A grade A snowflake will turn bluish around the white/black line.

Maybe it's skmethjng similar to that.

Wtf, looks like it's 20 years old.

Reminds me of Amphiprion akindynos.

I've see. Clowns with a much much bluer tone and also further into the white than the stock photo they are using. I don't get where the "troll" comment comes from.

Edit: oooookay after a nights sleep now I see it. You read it as me saying it is a snowflake. I meant to say whatever makes the snowflake turn blue may have made the stripes turn blue. It was just a stab in the dark.

Looks like maybe Amphiprion chrysopterus to me - orange-fin anemonefish, or blue-stripe anemonefish. The ones from the solomon islands have white tails.

thats what i was thinking but why is the fish a dark charcoal color with blue stripes, all the orangfin clowns i look up look ver similar to this guy but none are this dark grey charcoal color. could it possibly be a oarngefin hybrid with a muchala clown

Haha it is huge, its almost as big a full adult males hand, it must be old, my buddy who own the lfs told me the person who dropped it off to him is a heavy hitter in the reefing world. kinda strange. and yes he told him this thing was at least over 10 years old
