R1sky_Biz
Just tested my 8g with this kit and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't hard to read/understand. I tested and it said .22 ml which is 12.1 DKh.. I'm not sure I trust this. Can anyone shed some light with their own experience? I have heard that these kits are "the standard" so I want to make sure I'm doing it right (yes I read the instructions, they are vague) Link to comment
CrazyCarl
Directions are pretty simple. Not sure if you have a specific step you are questioning. I think the alk is 4ml of tank water (some people put 5ml by accident since they give a 5ml syringe), 4 drops of die, then add solution with the 1ml syringe until color goes from green to pink IIRC. Have you tested your alk before? what makes you think the reading might be wrong? Link to comment
R1sky_Biz
I did exactly as it reads and as you said but it just doesn't seem like it would be very accurate for some reason. Link to comment
CrazyCarl
test a few times and see how the numbers come out. It will give you an idea of the accuracy. I haven't heard too many complaints about salifert, but I have actually never done this, so if you do decide to try it let me know the #s. Link to comment
