jdog
Hi everyone, had my clam for about a year,he has gone through a broken tank, living in a plastic tub, always had a nice blue mantle, always looked good. Then today I looked at him and he has been closed all day with just a little bit of his mantle showing. I gave him a poke and he does move but won't open. Parameters are good and everyone else in tank is fine,I do have another clam which is doing well. Any ideas, arrgh. Thanks Link to comment
metrokat
Something could be irritating the clam, a snail, crab, a fish nibbling on the mantle, an aiptasia, alae tuft. IF it's not attached check the bottom for parasites. Link to comment
jdog
That is why I'm stumped,no crab, only a Kole tang who has been living with him since day one,no aiptasia and he is attached. I was just watching him and he finally started to open, maybe New Years hangover. Thank You for the reply. Link to comment

Halo_003
Strange. My bta does that from time to time. With no crabs or fish to bother it maybe a snail got in its space too far. Link to comment
Bingo1213
Update on Mr. Clam, open now,no clue what he was doing closed all day yesterday. I have had this happen before with my derasa. I think they are just premadona's who are very moody! Link to comment
