Wjcastiglione
This hermit is reeking havoc in my buddies tank killing a lot of stuff in there - we can't figure out what he is... I've searched the internet with no luck. Link to comment

hypostatic
I can't give you a specific species ID, but I've seen these guys around -- they should be as reef safe as any other hermit that size. What kind of "stuff" has it been killing? Link to comment
CronicReefer
Probably Clibanarius taeniatus, green/yellow striped hermit is the common name. Link to comment

ajmckay
Reef safe is a relative term for hermit crabs... We keep them because they're cool, they eat detritus and algae sometimes, and they are sometimes fun to watch... But at the same time they walk all over corals, they eat corals, and sometimes they don't get along well with other inverts - especially ones with a shell they want to try on... Link to comment
