long worms coming out of rock and frags at night.

So i've been scouring pest threads like a madman for a few hours now and have yet to come up with a definitive answer as to what these things are. All I know is since their arrival a lot of my corals look pissed. They grow out of almost all of my frags and in many places in my rock work. At night they get longer in size.

Hard to tell from the pic. Could they be starfish arms? They will to that--stick their arms out like that. Do they ever crawl out all the way?

Ave you tried to bait them at night? Get a piece of panty hose and put a shrimp into it with a small rock for weight. Drop it close to them and see what crawls out.

Those are a Digitate hydroid. I've had then when my tank is new and they eventually just go away. They irritate corals while they're around, bu I thought they were interesting to watch
