dhartmann
Im losing sleep over a concern I have with a new fish purchase. Saturday afternoon I purchased a small blue green chromis and a medium mystery wrasse. The good new is they both went into QT. Yesterday, Monday (two days later) I noticed the chromis was not eating well, breathing heavy, and had a couple dreaded white spots on its fins. I immediately suspected Ich and pulled him out of the tank and put him in a separate QT and started copper treatment right away. Because wrasses are more sensitive and he was only in the tank with the chromis for 48 hours, I did not want to treat him with copper right away. The wrasse shows no signs of Ich. Id really like to get some opinions on whether or not I should just treat the wrasse or observe for a few weeks and treat if he shows symptoms? Any guidance would be greatly appreciatedthanks so much all!!! Link to comment
NirvanaandTool
If the wrasse was in the tank with the chromis at any point, he has it too and should be treated. Use the tank transfer method on him to keep him away from copper. Link to comment
dhartmann
Thank you for the info! I'll start the tank transfer process tomorrow. Link to comment
NirvanaandTool
Welcome and good luck. It's a little more labor intensive but it's a pretty foolproof method as long as you time your transfers right. Link to comment
