This tank is about 8 months old.

Livestock: 1 emerald crab

Corals: ricordea, hammer coral, shrooms, zoas, sympodium, blasto

Light: Ecoxotic Par38 bulb, it is 21 watts

Other than that this tank has an airstone. I do weekly 100% water changes (except when I do them every 2 weeks....because I'm lazy). I keep the lid on, to reduce evap. I don't really top off, there isn't much need because there is such little evap in between water changes.

how do you keep an airstone and lid on at once?

very cool!

I just snake the line through the back of the lid, so the lid is slightly propped up in the back, about 2 cm at most. Evap still isn't a problem.

Great looking pico.

Is that aragonite on the bottom? I have very fine (too fine) sand on the bottom of my 4 gallon pico and I'm thinking of replacing it with aragonite.

It is. I *believe* what I used was Caribsea Arag-alive in "Special Grade Reef", but don't quote me on that.

do you have any hitchhikers? what does

the crab eat? i know they filter but...

I have the typical ones. Micro stars, asterina, various sponges and feather dusters, etc. Nothing crazy so far. The crab eats Rod's when I actually feed (about twice a month), and I'm assuming algae the rest of the time. He was put in to deal with bubble algae, which he has done very well.

have you noticed much coral growth over the past few months in this setup?

(Edited to add pics of growth) It's slow, but there. I don't dose at all, so that is kind of expected. I also don't really want explosive growth, there is only so much room in this tank. Here are growth pics of two of my favorites:
