You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community.

I am so tired of seeing this "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community."

I've tried Flickr, Photobucket. BB Code, HTML Code, URL, Link; everything! And every damn time I try to post photos I get this message, "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." It is starting to drive me insane.

What am I doing wrong? I just wish the site allowed us to upload photos as we please. omgomgomg

It does, but apparently you aren't grabbing a link to the image but probably a link to the html page. Images end in .jpg, .gif, .png.

This is what an image link looks like:

and if I use the image control it embeds correctly.

On any image you've uploaded, or any image from any other place you want to post. Right click the image and 'Copy Image Location"

Create the post like you are coding a web page. [ IMG ] Paste the location you just copied . jpg [ /IMG ]

Remove the spaces in the brackets.

you just have to grab the right code

on flickr it would be the link in "grab the html/bbcode"

on photobucket it's the IMG code

if it's a random google image, click "view image" then once it's just the image on a blank webpage copy the image and paste the image directly into the comment box

If you are using Flickr, you want to go to Share, then pick your size and copy the BBCode and directly paste it into the forum text. Do not use the Image extension code(Image icon), as it is already built in to the BBCode.

If you are using Photobucket, you would want to copy the "IMG" code, and you DO use the Image extension code for the forum text.

Well, it appears you are right. I haven't used photobucket in a while, I tend to stick to Flickr due to photobuckets image degradation. I feel like I remember having to use the Img extensions, but I could be guess I am wrong.

I started using flickr because I kept getting the error image from images being used too much and creating too much traffic on photobucket. they want you to pay for higher bandwidth use/month..

flickr is free and I actually like it better anyway.

I am starting to get the Flickr thing working. Its a pain and I do wish we could natively upload photos to this site, but whatever.

I have the method down now for Flickr. I have to select 'download' and view all sizes and THEN i can copy image link/location. Paste that into the image imbed on the forum and bingo. A pain, but it works now.

Thanks all for your help.
