jojo822
how is everyone mounting their Razors? The factory mount works awful with the rim on my JBJ Nanocube. Looking for mounting suggestions.. Link to comment
Daveluce
I mounted mine to the ceiling. Did yours come with the hanging kit? If it didn't, I think you can get one from max spect pretty cheap. Link to comment
pgrVII
I had mine mounted on the false wall over tge overflow on my nanocube 28 uses egg crate to keep fish in and prop a section of crate under the light on tge space behind the lights. Link to comment
jojo822
No I just ordered mine from the coralvue site. How does it mount? Is it pretty sturdy? Link to comment
Daveluce
There are 4 bolts that go into the light that also connect to the wire. Then you just connect some eye hooks to the ceiling, preferably screwed into the studs. If you can't find the studs or they're not in line where you want to hang the light, let me know and I'll give you another way to hang it Link to comment
plainrt
I used a tek hanging kit with mine cause factory setup sucks and didn't trust it Link to comment
jojo822
Yeah that's what I'm worried about, the studs. Thanks for your input guys!! Merry Christmas!! Link to comment
zooman72
Check out the beginnings of my two 40B threads - used simple electrical conduit bolted to the tank stand and the factory hanging kit, with no issues to note... Link to comment

WindyCity
I used conduit pipe. Use a pipe bender to get the angle you want. I spay painted them black then used conduit clamps to fasten them to the back of my stand. I have the lights sitting on top for now,but you can use the hanging kit on the poles. Hope this helped. Daveluce
What would you suggest as to another way to hang the light? If you can't find the studs, they sell bolts with a circle on the end of them. Pick up some toggles, and use the eye bolts with the toggles. It's basically a safe way to mount things to drywall without access to the studs Link to comment
jojo822
Great! Thanks guys!! Link to comment
jojo822
How do you guys measure the correct holes to drill in the ceiling to hang the light, so I don't drill hundreds of holes. Link to comment
Daveluce
Measuring tape, or yard stick, and a level. Use the level to draw a straight line from the center of your tank up the wall, then onto the ceiling. Then measure the distance from the center of your tank to the hanger mount holes on your light. Mark those dimensions onto the ceiling. Then do the same thing for the front to back dimension, so you can center your light. Damn that's hard to explain. Painters tape is your friend. Just measure everything. Twice. Good luck Link to comment
