Admonition
So I have slacked in the past with my parameters and started recently keeping actual track of my alk, calc, and mag. I've subsequently been dosing my tank to keep daily ranges of 9 dKH, 410 calcium, and 1350 mag. I've subsequently been noticing that my day to night pH swings are now 7.97 low to 8.20 high consistently. Is this cause for concern? Or is a 0.2 swing normal? Link to comment
seabass
Swings are typical when you're not running a refugium on a reverse light cycle. Protein skimmers can help by removing some excess CO2. Link to comment

As long as you stay between 7.8 and 8.3 you will be ok. I only experienced issues when I dropped below 7.7 at night. Link to comment
