15 Gallon Nano Reef

Hello,

I haven't had a tank set up for about 6 months, since my 20L that had been going for 5 yrs was taken down, seen here:

BUT, It didn't take long for me to start up a new project, and here it is. 15 Gallon Reef. This time I invested in some more equipment, including:

Pure water club RO/DI

TDS Meter

API Test Kit

Kessil a350w

Aquac Remora-S Skimmer w/pre-filter box

Aquaclear 30

2 nano 240 pumps (haven't received them yet). For now original mj1200 is in there.

75w Neo-Therm heater (Just got it this week, and is going back since the thermometer is off by 8 degrees!..ugh)

Right now this tank has been set up for 3 weeks, and I've added a pair of clowns, and some pulsing xenia (I know, they grow like weeds, and I hope they do). My goal is to have a softy tank, with lots of movement, relatively easy to care for. I'm sure i'll have some questions for you guys along the way!

Looks good, what coral do you plan on adding?

That is a really good question! I'm not sure. I had my heart set on pom pom xenia, but can't find any locally. So i'll definately add that eventually. Do you have any suggestions?

I'd like to stick to corals that have a lot of movement in the water, something like weeping willow toadstool maybe, xenia of course...and things that I don't need to target feed or dose tank (can do well with just reef crystal water changes).

frogspawns, hammers, and torches all have great movement and do not need target feeding IMO epsecially with a nice light like that... also zoas are easy to take care of and come in all sorts of sick colors and combinations. Not much movement in zoas besides the skirts a little but look great regardless

I do like frogspawns, and hammers. Good call, thanks for the suggestion.

Looking great! I like the Zoas, do you plan on adding anything up top?

Thanks! I do have one small zoa frag up there (top right), I'm thinking of adding some more different colored mushrooms in the shady areas up top but not sure. Would like more things that look bright under actinics. One issue I have is the glass hood has that black plastic hinge and it blocks light. So I might replace it with a custom acrylic piece eventually...

Wow! I've just come back to NR and your tank looks amazing! I haven't had a tank set up in years and I've got this empty 15 rimless calling my name. Your tank gives me inspiration. And they've all said it, but I'll say it again that is an awesome scape.

Thanks a lot! Very nice to hear my tank being an inspiration to someone. I was really happy with the scape, but it might be time to do some rearranging soon. If I keep adding coral, and they continue to grow it's just going to look like a big blob/wall of stuff.

Hey man, the tank looks to be filling in quite nicely! The xenia has such great color up front. What color are the zoos up top?

I am looking to grab at least one more bright patch of zoos. I currently have a single rock with two species, green and orange.

Thanks! Xenia is awesome. Could stare at them pulsing for hours.

Those zoos up top are green, with orange nipples and skirts. The closest thing I can find to id them are these operation desert storms:

New picture, showing frogspawn that I picked up yesterday, and also moved orange torch off the sand bed so that my jester goby would stop picking at it. Hopefully it will pull through.
