Ivery
The little led driver that worked on moonlights on t5 lights doesn't work. So I took a wall cord and opened it up. Removed the red and black wires from the prongs that go in wall socket. Can I use this as the driver? Link to comment
jedimasterben
I don't think I follow all that well. If you're asking if a constant voltage wall wart can replace the constant current LED driver that it was powering, then probably not. Link to comment
Ivery
Ok, reason I asked is I used it before disassembling to check the leds. And they did come on. So we're can I find the small driver? Link to comment
Benny314
The insides of that LED driver will be identical to the insides you've found in that wall plug........ but.......... you have to make sure that driver does the same as the original wall socket unit. So they're both either constant current or constant voltage and have the same output voltage and amperage otherwise you'll fry the LEDs. You can buy replacement wall units like the dead one you've taken apart. Try typing what's on the unit (voltage and amperage input/output) into google or ebay. Link to comment
