Fresh Lobster Eggs

So at my restaurant we get fresh lobster about every other week and I was just curious if I could feed my tank the eggs because the chefs don't use them! They were boiled with the lobster. I've read mixed reviews and some claim to have great responses from fish and coral.

Yeah they are just boiled and then they throw em in some cold water.

Do yourselves a favor and get some of this, LRS Reef Frenzy. It has all of the raw ingredients in it and no fillers or binders and won't pollute the tank.

OH, not to mention, the fish love it! Best frozen food out there.......

Rods is good as well if you can't find Larry's locally. Way more of our LFS's carry rods.

Yeah, I've tried Rods, but the fish really go nuts for reef frenzy....

If possible, talk to the sous chefs and ask if they could set aside some raw roe when/if they ever bake or par-broil the lobsters (involves completely bisecting the raw lobster, so makes short work of both determining gender and separating out the eggs... hopefully more likely that they'll have the time and inclination to help you out.)

Keep in mind, it'll be tarry and black in its raw state... not red & crumbly.

What about going to an asian mart? our H mart carries a ton of different kind of eggs from the fish they prepare for sale there. Not to mention for a couple bucks you can buy a package of whole capelin and take the eggs out yourself.

Contact Larry I know he ships to a customer that moved from NC. If any of your lfs has frozen food mention it to him, he might be able to set it up so you can get it from them and save the cost of shipping.

I use lobster eggs for everything in my tank, they're awesome! I use frozen, imagining getting yours fresh would be a lot better :)

Every fish and invert eats them, it's the only food that EVERY coral has accepted in my tank. Only problem is they can get messy.. I target feed with a 3ml pipette, but have to turn all pumps and wavemakers off otherwise it's just a really gross storm of eggs in the tank.. Not pretty ;)
