Custom Filter box - need help

Looking for some help designing a custom filter box. Here are the two models i have in front of me and looking for advice to improve the design.

 

The tank dimensions are 28" x 10" deep X 8" high.

 

This will be ran as a peninsula. with a mini -jet 606

 

 

a - i was thinking this would be good for a center fuge design

 

and

 

b - i was thinking this could be good for a design that uses a skimmer in the second chamber.

 

 

Can anyone help me and give some constructive criticism, i think i would like to just run a fuge in the second chamber with the option to put a skimmer in the first chamber if i wanted too.

So your running it as a peninsula but with two filters? Are they both going on one side or are they each going on an end? and how come "a" doesn't have a return pump hole? Just trying to figure out what your asking for
