clownfish submitting to my hand...

Hi guys, I have had a pair of ocellaris clowns for about 6 months now and a bit worried about their behaviour.

They used to be scared whenever I came near the tank and hide but lately they have become brave and swim right up to my hand when it's in the tank.

That wasn't an issue but lately the female has been doing the submission twitches to my hand.

I'm worried this could affect the pair in some way. Has anyone had this happen before?

Yeah mine are vicious biters. I swear if they had teeth I'd be missing pieces of my fingers. I wouldn't worry about it effecting the relationship between your clowns though.

Thanks for the replies all, glad to know it's not going to harm the balance of the pair. Mariaface, no she isn't pushing water at me, it's defiantly the fast twitching that a submissive male normally does.

It's definitely a warning. It's the precursor to more aggressive behavior toward the god of food.

She will soon start to bite lol

Yep lol mine did the same thing.

The clown will start biting your hand in 3.2.1..... My killer huge female MCF will even push my hand out of my tank and ram into my hand as hard as she can! Oh yeah, and she will bite me too.

I sold my first pair at the end of summer, thought I was downsizing to a 1G.

I now have a single clown and thankfully she ignores my hand. In fact she seems afraid of my hand, which is something I'm very thankful of.
